Construction Project Accountant Details:

• Direct Hire position
• $85,000.00 to $100,000.00 /annually
• First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)

This position will be responsible for project accounting, billing, and accounts receivable for the Construction Division. This individual will be reviewing and verifying the accuracy of job cost coding, preparing job cost billings and all necessary supporting documentation for bank construction draws with third parties. This role will be working directly with Project Managers to revise budgets, assist them with change orders, determine percentage of completion and verify close out of job cost categories as they are deemed to be completed.

• Prepare monthly job cost billings for site division, design division, construction jobs and projects.
• Preparing supporting documentation for bank construction draws for third parties (lien waivers/costs organized in bank identified cost coding).
• Review job cost invoices are being input promptly and coded accurately to bill out properly.
• Coordinates billings with the Site Division to make sure internal contracts to jobs are being billed timely and accurately for all Site Division employee hours and machine run time.
• Works directly with Project Managers (PMs) to analyze and document job change orders and/or savings/overages to convey information to management monthly.
• Identify job cost variances and make sure they are communicated properly between estimating and the field conveying savings or overages to management monthly to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly cost and debt analysis reports.

Construction Project Accountant Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting is required
• Highly proficient in computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office products
• Minimum of three years of experience with job costing in the construction industry is required
• Experience with AIA format construction billings (G702 & G703) is required
• Ability to accommodate occasional extended business hours
• Ability to organize and prioritize between multiple projects and identify & correct any adjustments deemed necessary Ability to analyze budget values with actual invoices and verify accuracy of job cost coding
