This individual is passionate about economic growth, local entrepreneurship, and placemaking, with the ability to balance multiple high-profile projects across different organizations including the Adrian-Tecumseh Local Development Finance Authority (ATLDFA), Tecumseh Downtown Development Authority (DDA), and Tecumseh Events, Activities, & Marketing (TEAM). They bring exceptional communication and project management skills, a strong sense of initiative, and a demonstrated ability to coordinate complex events, marketing campaigns, and administrative functions. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable working on strategic economic development initiatives and hands-on community projects—whether that means assisting with SmartZone data analysis, promoting downtown redevelopment, or co-chairing one of Michigan’s most beloved small-town festivals, the Tecumseh Appleumpkin Festival. Job Requirements A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, in business, marketing, community planning or public administration. Two or more years of community or economic development related experience, preferably in a government, business development or marketing setting. Knowledge of economic development related skills including, but not limited to, business incentives, workforce training programs, and private-public partnerships. Ability to multi-task and switch projects quickly, and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Analytical ability, conceptual ability, logic and intuitive judgment must be applied to a limited extent. Experience inter-department and large organization or government functions, operations, and administration. Established skills in word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications/software. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and use good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness when dealing with other employees, professional contacts, and the public. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, problem-solve, and work effectively under stress, within deadlines and changes in work priorities. Ability to compile data and prepare accurate records and reports. Demonstrated use of initiative, discretion, and knowledge in the attainment of the desired objectives.
