Per Diem: 16 shifts in 6 months. At least 1-2 weekend shifts a month. 8 hour shifts minimum. Weekend and Holiday Rotation. Job Summary The Unit Service Technician provides a broad range of care and services to patients, including but not limited to EKG, phlebotomy, equipment cleaning, and stocking of rooms under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The Technician performs secretarial duties such as organizing paperwork, answering the phone, paging, and receiving ED patients into the electronic medical record. The Technician will perform 1:1 sitting when necessary and will assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support (BLS) – Generic – HR Only required and Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – State Specific Certification Board required or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT License) – Generic – HR Only required Experience ED: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency setting preferred ICU: 1 year experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred Perioperative, IV Therapy: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Staff adheres to all C.A.R.E.
