Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sr. Welder / Fabrication Technician to join our team and support both production and R&D initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who has strong welding expertise, especially in high-pressure, high-temperature piping, and who enjoys hands-on prototyping, problem solving, and contributing to the development of new technologies. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and R&D teams to fabricate pipe spools, assist with rapid prototyping, and support general mechanical and hardware installation tasks across the company.

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication

• Perform pipe spool welding for high-pressure, high-temperature applications following industry and company standards.
• Precision TIG welding on Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Aluminum
• Fabricate components for prototypes, test rigs, fixtures, and assemblies used in R&D programs
• Read and interpret technical weldment drawing
• Participate in rapid prototyping to support proof-of-concept and early-stage product development.
• Work closely with engineers to iterate designs and provide manufacturability feedback.
• Assist in building and assembling test systems for performance evaluation.

Technician & Assembly Work

• Install mechanical hardware such as bolts, fittings, valves, instrumentation, and support brackets.
• Assist with general shop tasks including material preparation, equipment setup, and workspace organization.
• Support equipment maintenance and safe shop operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience of welding or fabrication experience, including but not limited to Pressure Vessel/Piping, Chemical Processing, Aerospace, or Automotive
• Strong proficiency in TIG welding, particularly stainless steel and nickel-based alloys (e.g., Inconel)
• Welding Certifications including but not limited to: AWS D1.1, 6G Pipe Welding Certification, AWS D17.1, API 1104, AWS D1.6
• Experience welding to high-pressure, high-temperature code or near-code requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly and technician experience
• Commitment to safety, precision, and producing high-quality work.
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred

• Experience with ASME Section IX, Section VIII, or pressure piping fabrication.
• Prior work in energy, chemical processing, R&D labs, or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience with basic machining, grinding, cutting, or other metalworking skills.
• Familiarity with prototyping and iterative development environments.
• Experience with Project Management Software (e.g. Confluence, Notion, Jira, Trello)
• Operate CNC mills, manual mills, and lathes
