HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel Medical Lab Technician for a travel job in Detroit, Michigan.

Title: Medical Lab Technician
Location: Detroit, MI
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00–5:00 (Flexible options: 9:00–5:00 or 9:30–6:00)
Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing procedures on blood and other body fluids/specimens using manual techniques and laboratory instruments.
• Follow established laboratory protocols under the supervision of a laboratory technologist, leader, and/or supervisor.
• Handle specimen receipt, accessioning, and bench work in a clinical lab environment.
• Utilize laboratory information systems including Epic and Sunquest CoPathPlus (LIS).
• Maintain accuracy, quality, and compliance with laboratory standards while working with PPE.
• Support prenatal testing processes within the cytogenetics laboratory.
• Communicate effectively with team members and maintain proper documentation.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical laboratory settings.
• Technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge necessary to perform laboratory functions.
• Experience handling clinical specimens and working comfortably in PPE.
• Prior experience with sample receipt, accessioning, and lab bench work (not phlebotomy-focused).

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience with Epic and Sunquest CoPathPlus (LIS).

Required Education:

• Completion of an Associate Degree program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• National certification from a recognized certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).
• BLS certification.
• MLT certification is a plus.
