Position Details Job Description The Henry B. Plant Museum at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Curator of Education. The Henry B. Plant Museum has an opening for a Curator of Education who will be responsible for all Museum educational activities and will report to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities :
1. Develop and implement educational programs for children and adults.
2.Implement grant writing.
3. Develop and conduct training for docents and volunteers.
4. Coordinate and conduct museum tours.
5. Identify and invite guest speakers and performing artists.
6.Develop and coordinate special events.
7. Coordinate onsite and outreach theater programs.
8.Present public talks and workshops.
9.Develop materials to be used by 4th grade social studies teachers.
10.Read and research to build knowledge of historical content related to permanent and special exhibits. The successful candidate will have:
Qualifications :
1.Bachelor's degree in history, education or related field, Masters preferred.
2.Prior experience in American history museum or Florida history museum preferred.
3.Prior Experience developing lesson plans for K-12 students preferred.
4.Proficient MS Office skills.
5.Proven ability in public speaking
6.Ability to analyze and interpret historical information.
7.Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Occasional evenings and weekends will be required.
